Chapter 30: The Unwritten Horizon

The massive quantum server racks inside the Alpine bunker hummed with a deafening whine before groaning to a sudden, absolute halt.
One by one, the glowing blue lights on the server banks flickered, sputtered, and died.
The global display screens flashed a single, permanent system notification across the world:
SYSTEM OFFLINE. SECURE ARCHIVES PURGED.
Camila stood alone in the center of the dark, silent control room, the cool glow of the dying monitors reflecting in her dark eyes.
Commander Vance stepped up beside her, lowering his weapon. "The transfer is complete, Director. Every single offshore account, shell company, and hidden asset belonging to Janus has been permanently wiped and redistributed to international humanitarian relief funds."
Camila looked down at her hands. For ten years, her entire existence had been consumed by a singular, burning desire for revenge and justice. Now, looking at the dead screens, the weight of the crusade finally lifted from her shoulders.
"And what about us?" Vance asked quietly. "The tribunal has issued an emergency arrest warrant against you for going rogue and destroying the global financial infrastructure."
Camila let out a faint, quiet smile. She pulled the encrypted phone from her pocket, unlocked it, and pressed the power button until the screen went completely black.
She tossed the phone onto the steel console beside her.
"Let them look for me," Camila said, turning on her heel and walking toward the exit corridor where the morning sunlight was beginning to filter down through the blast doors. "Let's go."
