Say goodbye, Rebecca," Julian whispered, his finger tightening on the trigger.
Before Julian could fire, Thomas didn't aim for Julian—instead, he fired a rapid shot directly into the overhead industrial transformer box hanging above the center of the loading bay.
SPARK! BANG!
A massive shower of white-hot electrical sparks cascaded downward from the ceiling, plunging the entire railway depot into sudden, pitch-black darkness. Shouts of alarm echoed from Julian's mercenaries as confusion swept their ranks.
"Marcus! Get them out through the back rail tunnel!" Thomas roared into the dark, firing three more blind suppression rounds toward the doorway.

"Dad, come with us!" Rebecca screamed from inside the car as Marcus slammed the accelerator, reversing the sedan sharply into the dark shadows of the intersecting railway tunnel.
"Go! I'll cover the rear!" Thomas shouted back, his voice fading into the echoing gloom of the depot as gunfire erupted in the darkness.
