Chapter 3: Every Camera Was Recording
Richard suddenly forced a smile.
"I'm terribly sorry. It was only a misunderstanding."
The Chairwoman looked at him without emotion.
"A misunderstanding?"
She glanced toward the security director standing beside the executive.
"Play every recording from the ballroom."
Several enormous LED screens illuminated.
The first clip showed Richard deliberately bumping into the waitress with his shoulder.
The second captured him knocking the wine tray from her hands.
The third replayed every insult he had shouted while guests laughed.
Gasps echoed through the ballroom.
Some guests quietly lowered their eyes in embarrassment.
Others hurried several steps away from Richard and his wife, unwilling to be associated with them.
The Chairwoman folded her hands.
"You didn't humiliate a waitress."
