Chapter 5: A New Beginning
One year later, the white marble courthouse looked different.

Khloe stood on the same staircase, this time holding a smiling little girl wrapped in a soft pink blanket.
The child reached for Harrison, giggling as he lifted her effortlessly into his arms.
"You know," Khloe said softly, "she smiles every time she sees you."
Harrison kissed his niece's forehead.
"She's stronger than all of us."
Nearby, a bronze plaque had been installed honoring emergency responders and recognizing new courthouse safety improvements that followed the tragedy.
Khloe glanced once at the place where her life had almost ended.
Then she turned away without fear.
Some scars never disappeared.
But they no longer controlled her future.
As Harrison watched his sister and niece walk toward the waiting sunlight, he finally understood something years of winning impossible cases had never taught him.
Justice could punish the guilty.
Love was what truly healed the innocent.
