Chapter 1: The Trap Was Set Weeks Ago
The housekeeper froze.
"Detective?"
The blonde woman's sobbing stopped for the first time.
"What... what did you just say?"
The pregnant woman never answered.
She simply lowered the phone onto the polished floor beside her.
Less than a minute later...
The front doors burst open.
Detective Daniel Ruiz entered with four uniformed officers, followed by two forensic investigators carrying sealed evidence cases.
Everyone in the mansion stared in disbelief.
The blonde woman quickly recovered.
She rushed toward the detective with tears streaming down her face.
"Officer! She attacked me! She threw herself down the stairs to frame me!"
Ruiz didn't even look at her.
Instead, he walked directly to the injured pregnant woman.
"You stayed conscious."
She nodded.
"Barely."
The detective carefully helped her sit against the wall.
Then he stood and faced the room.
"This staircase has been under police surveillance for the last nine days."
Silence.
The blonde woman's face slowly lost all color.
Ruiz continued.
"Mrs. Harper reported multiple anonymous threats against her unborn child."
"She believed someone inside this family intended to kill her."
"So with a court order, we installed hidden cameras."
One officer opened a laptop.
Security footage appeared.
Every angle.
Every movement.
The entire staircase.
The recording clearly showed the blonde woman looking around...
Making sure no one was watching...
Then violently shoving the pregnant woman with both hands.
There was no struggle.
No attack.
Only attempted murder.
The housekeeper covered her mouth.
"My God..."
The blonde woman stumbled backward.
"No..."
"That's edited..."
"It has to be edited!"
But nobody believed her anymore.
Because another officer quietly placed a clear evidence bag onto the table.
Inside was a second phone.
Recovered earlier that morning.
Filled with deleted messages.
Messages discussing payment.
Timing.
And one chilling sentence.
"Make sure she loses the baby."

The detective looked directly into the blonde woman's eyes.
"You weren't acting alone.
