Chapter 5 – A New Beginning
Six months later...
The estate reopened after a complete renovation.
Not as an exclusive private venue.
But as the Clara Mason Foundation.
Young designers received scholarships.
Local artists displayed their work throughout the halls.
Couples from every background celebrated weddings there.
No one was judged by wealth.
Or family name.
Or social status.
Near the entrance, a framed piece of white satin hung inside a glass display.
The torn fabric from Clara's wedding dress.
Below it, a small plaque read:
"Character is revealed by how we treat people when we believe they have nothing to offer."
Arthur attended the opening ceremony.
So did many former employees.
Andrew arrived quietly, standing near the back.
He didn't ask to speak.
He simply applauded.
Patricia never returned.
Clara stepped onto the balcony overlooking the gardens.
The same gardens where her wedding had fallen apart.
She smiled—not because she had won, but because she no longer needed to prove anything.
The dress had been torn.
The marriage had ended before it began.
