Chapter 4 – Justice Has a Long Memory
Chapter 4 – Justice Has a Long Memory
Three months later...
The trial became national news.
The security footage played inside the courtroom exactly as it had at the villa.
Frame by frame.
There was no doubt.
The shove had been intentional.
The blonde woman was convicted of attempted murder and unlawful assault against a pregnant victim.
Her father received multiple prison sentences for fraud, embezzlement, and conspiracy.
The Whitmore family name disappeared from every company building within a week.
The husband refused to celebrate.
Instead...
He returned to the villa with his wife and daughter on the first anniversary of the attack.
This time, they weren't hosting a lavish party.
They were opening a children's rehabilitation foundation funded by the company.
The infinity pool remained exactly where it had always been.
But beside it now stood a bronze plaque.
It carried only one sentence.
"True power is not proven by what you own... but by whom you choose to protect."
The little girl, now holding her newborn baby brother, looked up at her parents and smiled.
"We're home."
The husband wrapped one arm around his wife and kissed her forehead.
The empire had survived.
The fortune had remained intact.
But neither of those things mattered anymore.
Because the greatest victory was never reclaiming the company.
It was making sure the people he loved would never have to fear it again.
The End.
