Chapter 2 – Four Words That Ended Her Game

Chapter 2 – Four Words That Ended Her Game

The courtyard fell so silent that even the fountain behind the villa seemed to stop flowing.

The husband stepped away from the pool.

Water dripped steadily from his expensive suit onto the marble tiles.

His wife coughed violently as paramedics rushed toward her, wrapping blankets around her trembling body. One hand instinctively covered her swollen stomach.

The baby was still alive.

For now.

The blonde woman folded her arms, forcing a sympathetic expression.

"I'm telling everyone the same thing," she said carefully. "She slipped. I tried to help."

The husband stared at her for several long seconds.

No anger.

No shouting.

Only absolute certainty.

Then he spoke.

"You forgot the cameras."

Her smile disappeared.

Every security camera surrounding the infinity pool slowly rotated toward the courtyard as if responding to his words.

One of the villa managers hurried forward carrying a tablet.

Without saying anything, he turned the screen toward the guests.

The footage played.

Crystal clear.

The pregnant woman had been standing peacefully beside the pool.

The blonde woman looked around first.

Made sure no one was watching.

Then deliberately placed both hands against her back...

...and shoved.

There was no stumble.

No accident.

No misunderstanding.

Only calculated violence.

Gasps echoed across the courtyard.

Several guests immediately lowered their phones.

Others quietly stepped away from the blonde woman as though she carried a disease.

"I..." she stammered.

"You don't understand."

But no one was listening anymore.

At that exact moment...

The front gates opened.

Three black SUVs rolled slowly into the driveway.

Men and women in dark business suits stepped out alongside private security officers wearing discreet earpieces.

The chairman of the company's legal division walked directly toward the husband.

"Sir."

He handed over a sealed folder.

"The emergency board meeting has concluded."

The blonde woman's confidence finally shattered.

"What board?"

The husband accepted the folder without taking his eyes off her.

"The board you thought worked for your family."

He opened the folder.

"Effective immediately..."

"Every executive privilege granted to the Whitmore family has been revoked."

Her knees nearly gave way.

"What?"

"The villa."

"The company."

"The trust."

"You never owned any of it."

"You were only allowed to manage it."

"And today..."

"You lost that privilege forever."
