CHAPTER 2 — THE FALL OF CHLOE HARRINGTON

The security officers approached.

Chloe forced a smile, stepping back slightly. “Do you even know who I am? I’m invited here—”

The suited man interrupted her without raising his voice.

“Miss Harrington. Your family’s sponsorship agreement with the exhibition ends tonight.”

The words landed quietly—but completely destroyed her confidence.

Her hand lowered.

Her smile disappeared.

“That’s impossible…” she whispered.

The man continued, calm and precise.

“Deliberate misconduct toward a principal investor voids all access privileges. Including your gallery acquisitions.”

A silence deeper than before spread across the ballroom.

Guests avoided eye contact.

No one defended her.

Chloe turned slowly toward Victoria.

For the first time, Victoria didn’t look fragile.

She looked untouchable.

“You set me up,” Chloe said quietly.

Victoria’s expression remained unchanged.

“No,” she replied. “You did that yourself.”

May you like

Security gently took Chloe’s arm.

This time, she didn’t resist.
