CHAPTER 4: A NEW FAMILY

Six months later.

Snow covered the city.

Inside a quiet hospital room, a newborn baby boy slept peacefully in Paige's arms.

Reid sat beside her.

Holding her hand.

Protecting the family he had nearly destroyed.

The nurse smiled.

"Have you chosen a name?"

Paige looked at Reid.

Reid looked at the tiny child.

Then he smiled.

"Helen."

Paige laughed softly.

"For a boy?"

Reid nodded.

"As his middle name."

The nurse wrote it down.

Their son would carry the name of the woman who had been erased but never forgotten.

Across town, Evelyn Whitmore sat alone inside the enormous mansion she had fought her entire life to control.

The house was silent.

The guests were gone.

The reputation was gone.

The illusion was gone.

Money had protected her secrets for decades.

But it could not buy forgiveness.

Meanwhile, in the hospital, Paige watched her son yawn and stretch his tiny fingers.

Reid kissed her forehead.

And for the first time, neither of them cared about family archives, bloodlines, or social status.

Because they had learned the truth.

A family is not built by power.

It is not built by wealth.

And it is not built by lies.

A family is built by the people who choose to love each other when the truth finally comes out.

As the winter sun rose beyond the hospital window, Paige held her son closer.

The Whitmore legacy had ended that day in the sunroom.

But something far more important had begun.

A new family.

May you like

An honest one.

And this time, no one would ever be erased.
