Chapter 2: The Camera No One Knew Existed
"I didn't push her!"
The blonde screamed.
"She's lying!"
Detective Ruiz nodded calmly.
"I expected you to say that."
He reached beneath the carved wooden handrail.
Click.
A tiny hidden camera slid into view.
The caretaker stared in disbelief.
"You... installed cameras?"
Ruiz answered,
"After the third attempted murder, we obtained a court order."
An officer connected the camera to a portable monitor.
The footage played.
There was no argument.
No struggle.
The pregnant woman had simply turned to walk away.
The blonde looked around...
Checked that no one was watching...
Then deliberately placed both hands on the pregnant woman's back and shoved with all her strength.
Silence filled the mansion.
The caretaker covered her mouth.
"Oh my God..."
The blonde backed away.
"No... that's edited!"
Ruiz calmly pressed another button.
Three additional camera angles appeared.
