Chapter 1: The Trap Was Never the Fall
The caretaker gasped as the distant sound of sirens echoed through the mansion.
The blonde woman's fake sobs stopped for just a second.
"What... what is that?"
The pregnant woman still lay on the floor, one hand protecting her unborn child while calmly lowering her phone.
Minutes later, Detective Ruiz entered with six officers.
"No one leaves this house."
The blonde pointed furiously.
"Arrest her! She attacked me!"
Ruiz didn't even look at the pregnant woman.
Instead, he walked straight to the staircase.
Then he smiled.
"So... she finally did it."
The blonde frowned.
"What are you talking about?"
Ruiz slowly pulled a folder from his briefcase.
"For the last four months, we've been investigating a series of suspicious 'accidents.'"
He placed photographs across the marble table.
Each picture showed a different woman.
Every one of them had been pregnant.
Every one of them had suffered a mysterious fall after arguing with the same blonde woman.
But none had enough proof to press charges.
Until today.
The pregnant woman slowly stood up.
She wasn't seriously injured.
She had been wearing a concealed medical protection belt beneath her maternity dress—a precaution approved by her doctor and arranged with the police.
"I knew you'd try to kill my baby," she said quietly.

"So I gave you the opportunity."
The blonde's face turned white.
