Chapter 2: Arturo's Last Gift

Three days later, the Beltrán board of directors gathered for an emergency meeting.
Most expected Clara to seek revenge.
Instead...
She surprised everyone.
She entered the conference room wearing a simple navy dress.
No jewelry.
No bodyguards.
Only the same worn folder she had carried into the wedding.
She placed Arturo's final handwritten letter on the table.
"My father left me wealth."
"But what he truly wanted me to inherit..."
"...was integrity."
She looked directly at every executive.
"No employee will lose their job."
"No salaries will be cut."
"The only people leaving this company..."
"...are those who built it through lies."
One by one, executives involved in hiding Arturo's daughter resigned.
Some confessed voluntarily.
Others were escorted out after evidence of fraud surfaced.
Finally, Sebastian entered the room.
He looked exhausted.
His expensive suit had been replaced by an ordinary jacket.
"I don't want the company."
"I don't want the money."
"I only want one chance to apologize."
Clara remained silent for several seconds.
Then she answered quietly.
"Forgiveness isn't the same as trust."
"I forgive you."
"But our story ended the day you chose wealth over family."
Sebastian nodded.
For the first time in years...
He accepted the consequences without arguing.
He quietly walked away.
