Chapter 2: The Truth Comes Home

Two days later, Santiago Aranda returned from a business trip.

Camila welcomed him at the front door with kisses and warm smiles.

As always, she played the perfect wife.

But this time Mariana refused to stay silent.

Late that night, while Camila attended a charity gala, Mariana approached Santiago in his office.

Her hands trembled.

"Sir... there is something you need to hear."

Santiago frowned.

Minutes later, the recording began to play.

Camila's voice filled the room.

Cold.

Cruel.

Unrecognizable.

Santiago listened in silence.

Then Mariana showed him photographs.

The hidden food.

The locked bedroom.

The medication box.

Everything.

At first he refused to believe it.

Then they walked together toward his mother's room.

For the first time in months, Santiago arrived without warning.

He found the door locked from the outside.

His face turned white.

His hands shook as he opened it.

Inside, Doña Consuelo sat alone in the darkness.

When she saw her son, tears immediately rolled down her cheeks.

"Santiago..."

The old woman collapsed into his arms.

For several minutes neither of them spoke.

Then she finally whispered the truth.

Camila had isolated her.

Drugged her.

Prevented visitors from seeing her.

And convinced everyone she was losing her mind.

The illusion shattered completely.

When Camila returned home that night, she found Santiago waiting in the living room.

The recording was already playing.

Her smile disappeared.

For the first time, she had nowhere left to hide.
