Chapter 3: An Unexpected Encounter

Six months later, Vanessa's life looked very different.

She had sold her luxury penthouse.

Her expensive wardrobe had been replaced by simple clothing.

The constant attention she once chased had disappeared.

One rainy afternoon, she visited a children's hospital to donate anonymously.

As she stepped into the lobby carrying several boxes of books, she froze.

Daniel was there.

Not giving interviews.

Not standing beside cameras.

He sat on the floor wearing jeans and a plain sweater, helping children assemble small robots while laughing with them.

None of the children cared that he was a billionaire.

To them, he was simply "Mr. Daniel."

He noticed Vanessa standing quietly near the entrance.

For several seconds, neither of them spoke.

Finally, she walked toward him.

"I owe you an apology."

Daniel remained silent.

"I was cruel."

"I judged you."

"And when I realized who you had become... I wasn't ashamed because you were successful."

She lowered her eyes.

"I was ashamed because I finally understood who I had been."

Daniel studied her face.

For the first time, he saw no arrogance.

Only regret.
