Chapter 4: Too Late to Undo Yesterday

Daniel burst into the hospital moments before sunrise.

His suit was soaked from the rain.

His breathing was uneven.

Outside the operating room stood her father.

The older man looked at Daniel with quiet disappointment.

"You finally came."

Daniel lowered his head.

"Please... let me see her."

Her father didn't answer immediately.
