Chapter 3 — The Son Who Stole Everything

Chapter 3 — The Son Who Stole Everything

Marcus wasn't ready to surrender.

While detectives escorted Vivian outside, he quietly slipped toward the study.

Isabella noticed immediately.

"He's going for the safe."

Everyone followed.

Marcus reached the hidden wall safe and frantically entered the code.

Inside sat stacks of cash...

Jewelry...

Passports...

And several external hard drives.

Before he could grab them, Detective Collins slammed the safe door shut.

Marcus exploded.

"Those belong to me!"

Richard slowly stepped forward with Isabella supporting him.

His voice was weak...

But steady.

"No."

"They belong to Hale Construction."

Marcus laughed bitterly.

"You don't own that company anymore."

Richard looked toward Isabella.

She handed him another document.

He unfolded it slowly.

"This is the court injunction freezing every transfer made after my accident."

Marcus froze.

"Effective immediately," Isabella continued, "your bank accounts, investment portfolios, offshore companies, and real estate holdings have all been frozen."

Marcus stared at her.

"You've been planning this."

"For six years."

"And every minute was worth it."

A detective opened one of the hard drives.

Thousands of financial records appeared.

Fake invoices.

Shell companies.

Bribery payments.

Tax fraud.

Marcus slowly backed against the wall.

Then the second pair of handcuffs appeared.
