PART 3 — The Secret Katherine Carried

PART 3 — The Secret Katherine Carried

Grace found Katherine sitting alone in the library.

Still wearing her wedding dress.

Still trembling.

Grace quietly sat beside her.

"My son believes you destroyed Beatrice."

Katherine didn't answer.

Instead, she slowly removed a silver necklace.

Inside the locket was a tiny memory card.

Grace frowned.

"What is that?"

"My insurance."

She placed it into Robert's laptop.

Security footage appeared.

Office recordings.

Email archives.

Meeting transcripts.

For nearly an hour, nobody spoke.

Then another face appeared.

Victor Harrison.

The company's chief executive.

The footage showed him ordering senior managers to falsify safety inspections.

When Beatrice refused...

He framed her.

Every anonymous email.

Every disciplinary report.

Every complaint.

They had all been created by the executive team.

Katherine had spent three years secretly collecting evidence because she knew no one would believe her.

Tears streamed down her face.

"I tried to save Beatrice."

"I failed."

"After she died..."

"I promised I'd expose everyone responsible."

Grace slowly turned toward Caleb.

His face had become completely colorless.

"You never looked at the evidence."

Caleb couldn't answer.

He had spent years feeding his hatred.

Years believing a lie.

Then Katherine quietly reached into her wedding bouquet.

She removed a sealed envelope.

"I was going to give you this tomorrow."

Inside was Beatrice's final handwritten letter.

Caleb's hands shook as he unfolded it.

The last sentence shattered him.

Katherine isn't my enemy. If anything happens to me... trust her.

Caleb collapsed onto the floor.

For the first time that night...

He cried.
