Chapter 2: The Man Billionaires Couldn't Buy

The ballroom doors suddenly opened.

Six men entered.

No weapons.

No bodyguards' arrogance.

Simple black suits.

Each stopped several feet behind Luca without speaking.

One quietly handed him a tablet.

Luca glanced at the screen.

Then looked toward Gerald.

"Your offshore accounts are frozen."

Gerald staggered.

"No..."

"The transfers failed twelve minutes ago."

Adrian's father pulled out his phone.

His face drained of color.

"Our bank..."

Another notification appeared.

Another.

Another.

Stock values.

Credit lines suspended.

Emergency board meeting.

Government investigations.

Every executive in the room suddenly found their own phones vibrating.

Someone whispered,

"This is impossible..."

Luca calmly handed the tablet to Savannah.

Displayed across the screen were hundreds of financial records.

Shell companies.

Illegal transfers.

Forgery.

Bribery.

Insurance fraud.

Each document carried signatures.

Gerald's.

Several Voss executives'.

Even Piper's name appeared beside payments made over the previous year.

Savannah looked up in disbelief.

"Piper?"

Luca nodded.

"She wasn't pregnant."

The room exploded.

Piper nearly dropped the microphone.

"That's a lie!"

Luca tapped the screen.

"The hospital invoice."

"The laboratory report."

"The payment made to falsify medical records."

Adrian slowly turned toward Piper.

"You told me..."

She burst into tears.

"I had to!"

Gerald shouted,

"Enough!"

But nobody listened anymore.

Everything collapsed at once.

Police officers entered through the main entrance.

Federal investigators followed behind them.

Someone had already contacted them.

Someone who had spent years collecting every piece of evidence.

Gerald looked directly at Luca.

"You planned this."

"No."

Luca answered.

"I waited."

"For the truth to expose itself."

Within minutes, Gerald and two Voss executives were escorted away in handcuffs.

Piper collapsed into a chair, abandoned by everyone she had manipulated.

Adrian stood alone in the center of the ballroom.
