He wasn't alone.
Two licensed security officers accompanied him.
Brenda immediately protested.
"This is harassment!"
David calmly placed a folder on the dining table.
"Mrs. Brenda Collins, these documents officially revoke your guest privileges effective immediately."
Rachel scoffed.
"You can't throw family out."
David opened another folder.
"Actually..."
He slid several printed photographs across the table.
Security footage.
Day after day.
Timestamp after timestamp.
Maya carrying groceries alone.
Maya cooking.
Cleaning.
Doing laundry.
Holding Lily.
Meanwhile Brenda and Rachel spent hours watching television, ordering expensive takeout with Marcus's credit card, and leaving the kitchen in complete disarray.
David quietly continued.
"Mr. Collins asked us to review the security system after noticing unusual household expenses."
Brenda's face turned pale.
"You've been spying on us?"
Marcus shook his head.
"I've been protecting my family."
Then another clip appeared.
Maya nearly collapsing while carrying a basket of laundry upstairs.
Neither Brenda nor Rachel even looked up.

The room became painfully silent.
Even Rachel couldn't find an excuse.
