Chapter 3: The Last Lesson
Three months later...
The courthouse steps overflowed with reporters.
Adrian Vale walked outside wearing a prison uniform.
Gone was the tailored suit.
Gone was the confidence.
Gone was the empire.
He had been convicted of aggravated assault, financial fraud, tax evasion, conspiracy, and domestic abuse.
Vanessa received her own prison sentence after investigators uncovered years of money laundering through fake consulting contracts.
The mansion had been sold.
The luxury cars auctioned.
Every asset seized.
Not one person from Adrian's former circle appeared to support him.
Across the street...
Victoria stood beside her father.
The scars across her back would remain forever.
But they no longer defined her.
Richard looked at his daughter.
"Do you regret waiting?"
Victoria watched Adrian disappear into the prison transport van.
Slowly...
She shook her head.
"No."
"If I had left sooner..."
"The world would have believed I was simply another abused wife."
"Instead..."
"They saw exactly who he chose to become."
Richard smiled with quiet pride.
"And who did you choose to become?"
Victoria looked toward the morning sunlight breaking across the city skyline.
"A survivor."
"Not because someone rescued me."
"But because I refused to surrender my truth."
She slipped the diamond pendant into her pocket.
Its recording had destroyed an empire.
Its lesson would protect countless others.
As father and daughter walked away together, neither looked back.
Some victories are won through revenge.
