The ballroom lights dimmed as the giant projection screen behind the dance floor flickered to life.

Every guest stared.

Security footage appeared.

Time stamp: 5:43 PM.

Peter unlocked the office door with a spare key.

Seconds later, Evan slipped inside carrying a black leather bag.

Neither man knew the room contained two hidden security cameras.

The recording showed Peter opening the safe while Evan photographed confidential documents.

Then...

Evan quietly removed a thick envelope marked Final Will and replaced it with another identical envelope.

Gasps echoed throughout the ballroom.

Peter's face turned ghost white.

Evan lunged toward the projector.

"Turn that off!"

Security guards intercepted him before he reached the stage.

My father never raised his voice.

"I've spent forty years building my company."

He looked at Peter with heartbreaking disappointment.

"And my own son helped someone steal it."

Peter collapsed into a chair.

"I didn't mean for it to go this far..."

Evan glared at him.

"Shut up!"

But Peter had already broken.

"He promised he'd marry Emma..."

"...then we'd replace Dad's will before tonight."

Another collective gasp swept through the guests.

Evan hadn't married me for love.
