Chapter 2 — The Truth Comes Out

Twenty minutes later, the front door opened.

Two attorneys entered the mansion.

Behind them walked a private security team.

No one had invited them.

Daniel had.

"Good evening," the senior attorney said politely.

"My name is Michael Harris. We are here to execute the trustee's instructions."

Vanessa laughed nervously.

"You can't remove me from my own house."

Michael calmly handed her another folder.

"You have thirty days to vacate the property."

She stared blankly.

"What?"

"The Whitmore Estate is trust property."

She looked at Patricia.

"Mom... tell them!"

Patricia couldn't speak.

Because she already knew the signatures were genuine.

Daniel had never stolen anything.

Richard had personally rewritten everything before he died.

Blake suddenly interrupted.

"This is ridiculous. We own Whitmore Logistics."

Michael looked at him.

"No."

He adjusted his glasses.

"You own nothing."

He opened another file.

"The company shares transferred into the trust six weeks ago."

Blake's face turned white.

"Our payroll account..."

"Frozen."

"Our operating credit?"

"Suspended."

"Our executive authority?"

"Revoked."

Daniel quietly sipped his water.

For the first time all evening...

No one laughed.
