Chapter 1: The First Move

Alexander did not waste a single minute.

While Sofia finally drifted into an exhausted sleep on Elena's couch, he stepped onto the apartment balcony and made one phone call.

"I need every security camera from the Grand Riviera Hotel," he said calmly. "Every hallway. Every elevator. Every entrance. Before sunrise."

The man on the other end answered with only two words.

"Consider it done."

Alexander had spent thirty years building an international security company. Politicians, judges, and Fortune 500 executives trusted his investigators when millions—or lives—were at stake.

By sunrise, his team had already secured copies of the hotel's surveillance footage before anyone could erase it.

The first video showed Javier leaving the honeymoon suite.

Exactly three minutes later, Carmen appeared.

She wasn't alone.

Five women followed behind her.

The elevator camera clearly captured one of them carrying a thick folder filled with legal documents.

Twenty-eight minutes later, the women walked out laughing.

Sofia stumbled into the hallway alone.

Barefoot.

Crying.

Holding her torn wedding veil against her bleeding mouth.

Alexander watched the footage without blinking.

"Freeze frame."

The image stopped.

Javier was standing twenty feet away.

He never entered the room.

He never tried to help.

Instead, he leaned against the wall scrolling through his phone as his wife was being assaulted inside.

Then the audio recovered from another hallway microphone revealed the sentence that made everyone in the investigation room fall silent.

Javier's voice.

"Mom... just don't leave bruises where people can see them."

Alexander slowly stood.

"Prepare criminal complaints."

His investigator looked up.

"Against Carmen?"

Alexander's eyes remained fixed on the screen.

"No."

"Against every person who walked through that door."

"And my son-in-law goes first."
