Chapter 3: The Price of Betrayal

Chapter 3: The Price of Betrayal

The presidential suite became strangely quiet.

The mistress had been watching everything on television.

Now someone knocked.

Twice.

She smiled.

"Marcus?"

Instead...

Hotel security entered.

Behind them stood housekeeping.

One carried garment bags.

Another held inventory documents.

The security supervisor spoke politely.

"Ma'am."

"The room now belongs to Ms. Isabella."

Confusion crossed her face.

"What?"

"We'll need the robe."

She looked down.

The ivory silk robe.

Isabella's robe.

Heat rushed into her cheeks.

"This is ridiculous."

"No."

The supervisor remained courteous.

"It's company property."

Minutes later...

She walked through the lobby wearing the same designer dress she had arrived in.

No robe.

No suite.

No dignity.

Guests watched in complete silence.

Phones appeared.

Videos spread online within minutes.

The woman who believed she had replaced the wife...

Had been escorted out before midnight.

Across the lobby, Isabella never even glanced in her direction.

She simply signed a document.

The final termination order.

Marcus watched her pen move across the page.

Every signature erased another piece of the life he thought could never disappear.

He finally spoke.

"I loved you."

Isabella stopped writing.

Then quietly replied,

"You loved what my family built."

May you like

She placed the pen down.

"You just never realized whose name was on the foundation."
