Chapter 3: A New Beginning

Police arrived before the ceremony resumed.

Faced with Emily's evidence—letters, passport records, financial transfers, and phone records—Victoria finally broke.

"I loved you!" she cried.

"I waited for years!"

"You were never supposed to find out she was alive."

The guests stood in stunned silence as officers escorted her from the chapel.

Daniel watched without anger.

Only sadness.

Years had been stolen from all of them.

Later that afternoon, he sat beside Emily on a quiet park bench while Noah chased pigeons across the grass.

"I missed his first words," Daniel whispered.

"I missed his first steps."

Emily squeezed his hand.

"But you're here for the rest."

Months later, Daniel and Emily held a much smaller wedding in the same chapel.

There were no extravagant decorations.

No luxury reception.

Only family, close friends, and a laughing little boy carrying two rings instead of one.

When the minister asked if anyone objected, Noah grinned.

"I don't."

The entire chapel burst into warm laughter.

Daniel slipped the restored silver ring onto Emily's finger.

This time, nothing from the past could separate them again.

Some love stories don't end when people disappear.

They end only when the truth finally finds its way home.
