Minutes later, the contents of the flash drive appeared on the giant screen above the stage.
At first, nobody understood what they were seeing.
Then the documents appeared.
Bank transfers.
Private messages.
Hidden accounts.
Years of evidence.
Richard's face turned pale.
Emily covered her mouth.
The flash drive revealed that Richard had secretly been moving family assets for years.
Even worse, it showed messages proving he had been planning to leave Emily while making sure she would receive almost nothing.
The guests watched in disbelief.
Business partners slowly stepped away from him.
Friends avoided eye contact.
Everything he had built was collapsing in front of them.
Then another video file opened automatically.
Richard froze.
The recording showed him speaking with a lawyer months earlier.
"If Emily ever finds out," he said in the video, "she won't have the resources to fight me."
The ballroom exploded with outrage.
Emily began crying.
Not because of the money.
Because after fifteen years of marriage, she finally understood the truth.
The man she trusted most had already planned her betrayal.
Richard lowered his head.
For the first time, he had no defense.
