Chapter 2: The Hidden Pattern

The recovered footage stretched back nearly two years.
Every few months, another employee disappeared.
A gardener.
A chauffeur.
A nanny.
A personal chef.
Each had been accused of theft.
Each had left in disgrace.
Daniel watched silently as video after video revealed the same routine.
Victoria planted evidence.
Called security.
Acted shocked.
Then watched innocent people lose everything.
Emma wasn't the first.
She was simply the latest.
Daniel leaned against the desk, struggling to steady himself.
"How many lives..."
He looked toward Victoria.
"...did you destroy?"
Victoria's composure finally broke.
"They were servants."
The words echoed through the room.
"They're replaceable."
Even the police officers exchanged uncomfortable glances.
One detective quietly stepped forward.
"We'll need copies of every backup."
Victoria laughed nervously.
"You don't understand who I am."
The detective answered without emotion.
"I understand exactly what the cameras recorded."
Just then Daniel received a phone call.
It was the company's chief financial officer.
His voice sounded shaken.
"Sir... we've discovered millions of dollars transferred from corporate accounts into shell companies."
Daniel closed his eyes.
"Whose authorization?"
May you like
There was a long pause.
"Your wife's."
