Richard walked into his private office without another word.
Everyone assumed he needed time.
Instead...
He pressed a single button beneath his desk.
Within fifteen minutes...
His chief attorney.
His head of security.
His financial director.
And two police detectives entered the mansion.
Eleanor finally began to panic.
"Richard... this is a family misunderstanding."
He calmly placed a thick folder onto the table.
"I've already reviewed the security recordings."
Her face froze.
Every hallway.
Every kitchen.
Every staircase.
The cameras had captured everything.
Emily carrying heavy buckets.
Emily being slapped.
Emily eating leftovers after midnight.
Emily crying alone.
Richard silently played each recording on the enormous television.
The mansion became a courtroom.
Nobody looked away.
When the final video ended...
Richard spoke only one sentence.
"You abused my daughter inside my home."
Eleanor burst into tears.
"I can explain—"
"No."
He interrupted.
"You can explain it to a judge."
The detectives stepped forward.
Handcuffs clicked around her wrists.
She screamed.
She begged.
She blamed the servants.
She blamed Emily.
She blamed everyone except herself.
Richard never looked at her again.
