Chapter 2: The Father's Secret

Police sirens wailed outside.
The robbers were running out of time.
The knife-wielding man suddenly ripped off his mask.
The entire bank gasped.
The boy's mother nearly collapsed.
She recognized him instantly.
He had once worked with her husband.
Years ago.
Before the attack.
Before everything fell apart.
"Tell him the truth," the robber shouted at the bank manager.
The manager shook his head.
"No."
The robber laughed bitterly.
"Seven years. You let an innocent man take the blame for everything."
The boy's heart pounded.
"What are you talking about?"
The robber looked directly at him.
"Your father wasn't attacked because of a robbery."
Silence.
"He discovered millions of dollars being stolen from company accounts."
The manager's knees nearly gave out.
The robber continued.
"He found evidence. He planned to expose everyone involved."
The manager suddenly screamed.
"Shut up!"
But it was too late.
The truth was spilling out.
The attack had been arranged to silence the boy's father forever.
The criminals believed the injuries had destroyed his memory.
And for years they were right.
Until one month earlier.
When the father unexpectedly began remembering fragments.
Names.
Faces.
Numbers.
And most importantly...
May you like
The tattoo.
The same tattoo now standing in front of his son.
