Chapter 3: A New Christmas Morning

Chapter 3: A New Christmas Morning
The divorce moved quickly.
Evidence left little room for argument.
Jimena was ordered to repay the stolen money and faced criminal charges for financial fraud, child neglect, and abuse.
The mansion felt strangely quiet after she was gone.
For the first time in months...
It also felt safe.
Alejandro canceled every business trip for the next year.
He appointed a new executive team to manage the company's expansion while he stayed home.
Christmas morning arrived only hours after the nightmare had ended.
The dining room looked completely different.
A towering Christmas tree filled one corner.
Fresh cinnamon rolls cooled on the table.
Hot chocolate steamed beside four tiny mugs decorated with snowflakes.
The girls came downstairs holding hands.
They stopped in complete disbelief.
"Is... all of this for us?" Camila asked.
Alejandro smiled.
"Every bit of it."
Regina looked uncertain.
"We don't have to earn breakfast?"
Alejandro knelt before them.
His eyes filled with tears.
"No."
"You never did."
"You are loved because you're my daughters—not because you're perfect."
One by one, the girls ran into his arms.
This time they weren't afraid.
Later that afternoon, Alejandro established the Santillán Children's Foundation, dedicating part of his fortune to feeding and protecting vulnerable children across the country.
His greatest investment would never again be another office building.
It would be childhood itself.
That evening, snow-like lights twinkled across the mansion while laughter echoed through every hallway.
The same house that had hidden fear now overflowed with warmth.
As the four little girls fell asleep beside the Christmas tree, each clutching the presents they had almost never received, Alejandro quietly made himself one final promise.
No amount of money would ever be worth missing another Christmas with the people who mattered most.
Because success could build a mansion.
But only love could finally make it a home.
