Emily walked out of St. Matthew Medical Center beneath a bright spring sky.
She expected to return to her small apartment in Pilsen.

A black limousine waited outside.
Victor stepped out himself.

"I owe you my life."
Emily smiled faintly.

Inside was the deed to a fully paid house.
Medical documents showing her mother's hip surgery had already been completed.
College tuition receipts proving her younger brother's education had been paid through graduation.

She stared at the papers in disbelief.
"I can't accept this."
Victor answered quietly.
"You aren't accepting charity."

Months later, Marcus Reed and every member of the conspiracy stood trial.
