CHAPTER 3: THE TRUTH THEY BURIED

Charles walked into the ballroom without fear.

His expensive cane tapped softly against the marble floor.

"I warned Emily to leave," he admitted calmly.

"You were poor back then."

"You were emotional."

"You would've abandoned everything for that girl."

Richard lunged toward him.

"You stole my family!"

Security rushed forward.

Charles never flinched.

"I built your future."

"I introduced your investors."

"I made you a billionaire."

"If Emily had stayed... none of this would exist."

Richard's fist trembled.

"For twenty years..."

"My daughter grew up believing she had no father."

Charles gave a cold smile.

"Business requires sacrifice."

The room erupted in outrage.

Several guests quietly pulled out their phones.

One elderly lawyer stepped forward.

"I've represented Charles for years."

His voice shook.

"I can't stay silent anymore."

He produced copies of old bank transfers.

Payments made to Emily.

Medical records.

Signed confidentiality agreements.

Threat letters.

Every document proved the same horrifying truth.

Emily had never abandoned Richard.

She had been blackmailed.

Charles had paid people to watch her for years, making sure she never contacted the man she loved.

Within minutes, police officers entered the ballroom.

Charles looked around for someone to defend him.

No one moved.

As handcuffs clicked around his wrists, he looked at Richard one final time.

"I still made you rich."

Richard answered quietly.

"You made me successful."

"But you made me lose everything that actually mattered."

Charles lowered his head as officers escorted him away.

For the first time in twenty years...

Justice had finally arrived.
