Chapter 1: The Missing Child

No one moved.

Arthur's question lingered in the silent church.

"What happened... to the other baby born in that delivery room?"

Marcus Vale laughed through the speakers.

"So..."

"Someone finally remembered."

Eliza stared at Arthur.

"What other baby?"

Arthur's legs nearly gave out.

"There were twins born that night."

The church erupted with gasps.

Damian looked at Eliza.

"You never told me you had twins."

"I didn't know!" Eliza cried.

"They told me my first baby died during delivery."

Arthur slowly shook his head.

"That was the lie."

He pointed toward the flash drive in Eliza's hand.

"The real hospital files are inside."

With trembling fingers, Eliza inserted the drive into the church computer.

One by one...

The hidden records appeared.

Delivery Room 3.

11:42 p.m.

Male Infant A — Healthy.

11:47 p.m.

Male Infant B — Healthy.

No death certificate.

No medical complications.

Instead...

A security report.

One infant removed from the nursery by unauthorized personnel.

Oliver looked at his mother.

"Mom..."

"Do I have a brother?"

Before anyone could answer...

Marcus spoke again.

"Not a brother."

"A weapon."

The church doors suddenly slammed shut.

The lights went dark.

Then every monitor displayed the face of a young man.

Early twenties.

Blue eyes.

The same eyes as Oliver.

Marcus smiled.

"Meet Daniel."

"The son you never stopped searching for..."

"...without even knowing he existed."
