Chapter 3 — The Cameras Never Lied

One hour later...

The wedding guests stood inside the mansion's private theater.

The celebration had become a trial.

Video after video played across the enormous screen.

The first showed the bride smiling warmly while Adrian was home.

The second...

Captured only minutes after he left for work.

Her smile vanished.

She snatched a toy from the boy's hands.

Another clip showed her locking him inside his bedroom.

Another revealed her whispering in his ear until he cried.

Then came the final recording.

The one that silenced everyone.

She leaned close to the little boy and smiled.

"If your mother were still alive..."

"...your father would never have married me."

"You don't belong here anymore."

The little boy burst into tears.

She walked away...

Leaving him alone on the floor.

Gasps filled the room.

Several guests wiped away tears.

Adrian's hands shook with rage.

His parents looked down in shame.

The bride finally broke.

"It wasn't supposed to be like this!"

"I just wanted us to have our own family!"

"You loved him more than me!"

Adrian stared at the woman he had almost trusted with his son's future.

"No."

"I loved the woman you pretended to be."

He removed his wedding ring.

Placed it gently on the floor.

"It's over."

Security escorted her out of the mansion...

Still wearing the wedding dress she would never wear again.
