Chapter 2: A Man With Nothing Left

Three months later...

Damian no longer lived in a penthouse overlooking the city.

The apartment he rented overlooked a parking lot.

His luxury watches...

Gone.

His sports cars...

Auctioned.

His private jet...

Sold.

Every morning he searched for work.

Every company rejected him.

Not because he lacked experience.

Because no one trusted his name.

One rainy afternoon, he noticed someone standing outside a neighborhood café.

It was Elena.

She wore a simple coat.

No security.

No cameras.

No reporters.

She looked... peaceful.

Damian slowly approached.

"I've lost everything."

Elena looked at him quietly.

"I know."

"I was wrong."

The words barely escaped his throat.

"I thought power belonged to whoever held it."

She answered softly.

"No."

"Power belongs to the person who knows how to use it without hurting others."

He lowered his head.

"For what it's worth..."

"I'm sorry."

For several seconds...

Neither of them spoke.

Finally...

Elena nodded.

"I believe you're sorry."

His eyes filled with hope.

"But forgiveness..."

She continued.

"Doesn't erase consequences."

Then she walked away.

Not because she hated him.

Because some chapters must end before another can begin.

Damian remained standing in the rain...

Watching the woman he had once called insignificant disappear into the crowd.
