CHAPTER 3 — THE TRUTH

An hour later, the billionaire sat alone with the boy in a private room.
The boy finally told the whole story.
Emily had survived.
Years ago, she had been involved in a terrible accident caused by people who wanted control of the billionaire's company.
Believing her life was in danger, she disappeared and raised their son in secret.
She never contacted him because she feared her enemies would find them.
But recently she had become very sick.
Before sending the boy away, she had given him the photograph and the letter.
"Mom said you were a good man," the boy said quietly.
The billionaire lowered his head.
For twenty years he had blamed himself.
For twenty years he had believed he failed the woman he loved.
"Where is she now?" he asked.
The boy handed him a small address written on paper.
"She's waiting."
Without hesitation, the billionaire stood.
For the first time in years.
No wheelchair.
No assistance.
