Chapter 2: The Truth Behind the Revenge

As security escorted several reporters into the room, Adrian remained remarkably calm.
He wasn't smiling.
He wasn't celebrating.
He simply looked at the woman with quiet disappointment.
"You still don't understand."
She stared at him.
"Understand what?"
"This was never personal."
She laughed bitterly.
"You destroyed everything I built."
Adrian slowly shook his head.
"No."
"You destroyed it yourself."
He picked up a thin financial report.
"Five years ago, your company began cutting employee pensions."
"You closed three factories."
"You fired over two thousand workers while awarding executive bonuses."
Every page revealed another decision.
Every signature belonged to her.
The investors began reading.
Their expressions darkened.
Then Adrian revealed the final document.
A confidential investigation.
Evidence of hidden offshore accounts.
Bribed auditors.
Fraudulent financial statements.
The chairman slowly stood.
"You concealed all of this?"
She backed away.
"I can explain."
"No," the chairman replied.
"You've already explained."
"With every decision you signed."
Police investigators entered the lounge quietly.
No dramatic shouting.
No resistance.
Only handcuffs waiting patiently.
For the first time that evening, she realized Adrian had never intended to humiliate her.
He intended to expose the truth in front of the very people she had spent years deceiving.
As officers escorted her toward the exit, she whispered,
"Why?"
Adrian answered without anger.
"Because thousands of honest families paid the price for your ambition."
