Chapter 2: The Hidden Needle
Chapter 2: The Hidden Needle
Adrian crossed the restaurant in three long strides, the bodyguard close behind.
"Say it again," he ordered.
The guard swallowed.
"The security team found one of the surveillance cameras disabled. Someone entered through the service corridor twelve minutes ago. We can't identify them."
Adrian's eyes hardened.
"Seal every exit."
Within seconds, every entrance to the restaurant was locked.
Customers panicked as armed guards quietly spread through the dining room.
Emma barely noticed.
She was focused entirely on the baby.
Her fingertips carefully traced beneath the gray blanket.
Then she felt it.
Something sharp.
"Stop!"
Everyone froze.
Emma slowly folded back the baby's clothing.
Hidden beneath the blanket, taped against the infant's tiny shoulder, was an almost invisible medical patch connected to an ultra-thin needle.
The baby's skin around it was swollen and bright red.
Emma looked up.
"This isn't a birthmark."
Her voice trembled.
"Someone injected him."
Adrian's face lost every trace of color.
The restaurant became deadly silent.
One of the older bodyguards leaned closer.
"My God..."
Emma carefully removed the adhesive without pulling the needle deeper.
The baby immediately relaxed, breathing easier than before.
The crying had never been random.
Someone had deliberately kept the child in constant pain.
Adrian looked around the room.
Not with anger.
With calculation.
"If someone got close enough to touch my son..."
His voice became dangerously calm.
"...they're still close enough to kill him."
At that moment, a waiter quietly stepped backward toward the kitchen exit.
Adrian noticed.
"So that's where you're going."
Before the man reached the door, two bodyguards tackled him to the marble floor.
As they searched his pockets, they found a small electronic transmitter.

And a single message flashed across its screen.
Target confirmed. Phase Two begins.
