Chapter 2: One Last Chance

Three months later...

Vanessa waited outside Kingsley Tower.

She had rehearsed her apology hundreds of times.

Hours passed.

Rain soaked her expensive coat.

Finally...

A black limousine stopped.

Andrew stepped out.

He looked exactly the same.

Calm.

Confident.

Untouched by everything that had happened.

She hurried toward him.

"Andrew... please."

He stopped politely.

"I made the biggest mistake of my life."

"I was blinded by money."

"I know who you really are now."

He studied her face for several seconds.

Then asked one quiet question.

"If I had still been the man you believed I was..."

"...would you be standing here today?"

Vanessa opened her mouth.

No words came.

Because both of them already knew the answer.

Andrew gave a small, understanding smile.

"I didn't lose someone who loved me."

"You lost someone who loved you."

Her eyes filled with tears.

"I'm sorry."

"I know."

"And I truly hope you become a better person."

He wasn't angry.

That somehow hurt even more.

Before entering the building, he removed the engagement ring from his pocket.

The same ring she had laughed at.

He handed it to a young security guard.

The nervous guard blinked.

"My girlfriend and I can't afford a ring like this, sir."

Andrew smiled.

"Then don't wait."

"If she's the right woman..."

"...she'll say yes before she asks the price."

The young guard's eyes turned red with emotion.

Vanessa watched everything.

Only then did she understand the difference between wealth...

...and greatness.
