Chapter 2: The Truth on the Screen

No one breathed.

The mansion's grand lobby remained frozen as the chief of security tapped the tablet.

The surveillance footage filled the screen.

Every second was crystal clear.

Victoria's elegant smile.

Her eyes turning cold.

Both hands pushing Evelyn from behind.

The violent fall.

The scream that echoed through the marble hall.

Silence followed.

Alexander watched without blinking.

His face revealed nothing.

Only his clenched jaw betrayed the storm inside him.

Victoria stepped backward.

"Alexander... it's edited."

No one answered.

"It isn't real!"

The chief of security swallowed hard.

"Sir... the recording comes directly from our encrypted security system. It cannot be altered."

Victoria looked around desperately.

The servants lowered their eyes.

No one came to her defense.

Alexander slowly knelt beside his injured mother.

Evelyn struggled to open her eyes.

"I'm sorry..." she whispered.

Alexander gently held her trembling hand.

"You have nothing to apologize for."

He stood.

Turned toward Victoria.

And spoke with terrifying calm.

"You didn't just attack my mother."

"You destroyed every lie you built around me."

For the first time...

Fear appeared in Victoria's eyes.

Real fear.
