PART 2: The Daughter He Never Knew
The businessman froze.
His eyes locked onto the little girl.
For several seconds, neither of them moved.
Then the man whispered a single word.
“Emily?”
The child nodded.
The hotdog nearly slipped from her hands.
Lena watched in confusion as the businessman rushed across the sidewalk.
“Emily... where's your mother?” he asked.
The little girl's eyes lowered.
“She went to heaven last month.”
The man staggered backward.
His face turned pale.
Lena soon learned the truth.
The man was Richard Hayes, a billionaire businessman.
Years earlier, Richard had fallen in love with a young woman named Sarah. But pressure from his wealthy family drove them apart.
What Richard never knew was that Sarah had been pregnant.
Emily was his daughter.
The daughter he had never met.
“Who's taking care of you?” Richard asked softly.
Emily looked down.
“No one.”
The answer shattered him.
For the first time in years, Richard forgot about business, money, and success.
All he could see was a little girl standing alone in the cold.
That day he canceled every meeting.
He bought Emily warm clothes.
Took her to a doctor.
Listened to stories about her mother.
And with every story, the guilt grew heavier.
That night, Richard asked her one question.
“Why were you standing beside that hotdog cart?”
Emily smiled.
“Because I was hungry.”
Richard's eyes filled with tears.
Then she added quietly:
“But the lady was nice.”

The next morning, Richard returned to the hotdog stand carrying a thick envelope.
Lena had no idea her life was about to change forever.
