CHAPTER 4: Sisters Again

Three months later, the Ashford mansion looked different.

The lawyers were gone.

The investigations were finished.

Eleanor faced criminal charges for fraud, conspiracy, and falsifying records.

The scandal dominated national headlines.

But inside the mansion, something far more important was happening.

A family was healing.

Victoria stood in front of a birthday cake.

This time there were no reporters.

No celebrities.

No cameras.

Only family.

Sophia entered the room carrying a small box.

Victoria smiled.

The first genuine smile Sophia had ever seen from her sister.

"What is it?" Victoria asked.

Sophia handed her the box.

Inside was a faded photograph.

Two little girls standing beside a birthday cake.

One was Victoria.

The other was Sophia.

On the back, written in childish handwriting, were five simple words:

Happy Birthday, Sister. Love Always.

Victoria burst into tears.

Not from sadness.

From relief.

From gratitude.

From finally getting back the person she had mourned for most of her life.

She wrapped her arms around Sophia.

And this time, neither sister let go.

Outside, the sun set behind the Ashford estate.

Inside, two sisters celebrated a birthday together for the first time in twenty-two years.

The lie that had destroyed a family was finally gone.

And in its place stood something stronger than wealth, stronger than power, stronger than time itself.

May you like

Love.

The End.
