CHAPTER 3: THE STAR THAT LED HER HOME

CHAPTER 3: THE STAR THAT LED HER HOME

Six months later, the Grand Regency Hotel hosted another gala.

But this one felt different.

There were still crystal chandeliers.

Still powerful guests.

Still cameras.

Yet tonight was not about wealth.

It was about family.

Victoria stood at the podium beside Rosie.

Mother and daughter.

Together at last.

The room rose in applause.

Victoria smiled through tears.

"There was a time," she began, "when I believed miracles only happened to other people."

The audience listened in silence.

"For twenty-five years, I searched for my daughter. I thought I had lost her forever."

She turned toward Rosie.

"But love has a way of finding its path back."

Rosie touched the star necklace resting against her chest.

The necklace that had survived fire, time, and tragedy.

The necklace that had carried a mother's promise across twenty-five years.

A star to lead her home.

Victoria stepped aside.

Rosie moved to the microphone.

Her voice was calm.

Strong.

"I spent my whole life wondering where I belonged."

She looked at her mother.

"Now I know."

Tears filled the eyes of guests throughout the ballroom.

Rosie smiled.

"Home isn't a place. It's the people who never stop loving you, even when they can't find you."

The room erupted into applause.

Victoria embraced her daughter.

For the first time in twenty-five years, neither of them felt incomplete.

Above them, the chandeliers sparkled like countless tiny stars.

And among them shone one star brighter than all the rest.

May you like

The one that had never stopped guiding a lost daughter back to the mother who loved her.

The End.
