Chapter 2 — The Boardroom Reckoning

Natalie drove straight to Whitmore Coastal Development's headquarters without looking back.
By the time she stepped into the executive elevator, every member of the emergency board had already arrived.
The atmosphere was silent.
No one greeted her.
Everyone had heard what happened.
Inside the boardroom, Evelyn stood beside the projector.
"Emergency protocol completed," she reported calmly.
"Richard Whitmore's executive authority has been revoked."
"Corporate banking access suspended."
"Personal expense accounts frozen."
"Security badges deactivated."
Natalie nodded once.
"Bring him in."
Seconds later, Richard entered with Helen and Brielle following close behind.
For the first time in thirty years...
The founder of Whitmore Coastal Development had to wait outside until security granted permission for him to enter.
The humiliation showed on his face.
Richard tried to sound confident.
"This is ridiculous."
"I built this company."
Natalie quietly slid a leather binder across the table.
"You built the first chapter."
"I paid for the rest."
Richard opened the binder.
Every page contained documents bearing his own signature.
Loan transfers.
Share restructurings.
Debt settlements.
Ownership agreements.
Every signature was his.
Every decision had legally transferred control to Natalie years earlier.
His hands began shaking.
"You tricked me..."
Natalie calmly answered.
"No."
"You refused to read."
Silence filled the room.
The board unanimously voted to confirm Natalie as permanent Chairwoman and CEO.
Richard Whitmore officially became nothing more than a minority shareholder.
