Chapter 3: Home At Last
Chapter 3: Home At Last
Months passed.
Ethan slowly adjusted to a life he had never imagined.
He attended school for the first time in years.
His little sister proudly walked beside him every morning, refusing to let go of his hand.
Every Sunday, they returned to the same cold alley where they had found each other.
Not because they wanted to remember the pain...
But because they wanted to feed children who were still hungry.
The little girl always carried extra sandwiches.
Ethan handed them out himself.
Whenever someone tried to thank him, he smiled.
"I know what it feels like to think nobody sees you."
One snowy afternoon, the family placed a small bronze plaque on the brick wall.
It read:
"One act of kindness brought a family back together. Never ignore someone simply because they're poor."
The woman looked at both of her children.
One she had never lost.
One she had finally found.
She held both of their hands tightly.
This time...
She promised herself...
She would never let go again.
The End.
