One year later...
The restored Vale Estate welcomed guests for a charity gala supporting children growing up without families.
Emily stood beside Richard beneath the same family crest she had once worn only as a mysterious tattoo.
Now...
It represented belonging.
Not loss.
Richard handed her a small velvet box.
Inside rested Catherine's wedding ring.
"Your mother wanted you to have this."
Emily slipped the ring onto her finger.
