PART 2 — The Daughter They Never Knew

The ballroom froze.

Iván's polished shoe struck Elisa's side.

She cried out—not from the pain...

But from terror for the tiny life inside her.

Instinct took over.

She wrapped both arms around her belly and curled against the cold marble floor.

A single tear slid down her cheek.

The orchestra stopped.

Champagne glasses remained suspended in midair.

No one dared breathe.

Then—

A deep voice thundered across the ballroom.

"GET YOUR FOOT AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER!"

The command echoed beneath the crystal chandeliers.

Every guest turned.

The massive ballroom doors swung open.

Nearly thirty men in tailored black suits entered in perfect formation.

Behind them walked an elderly gentleman with silver hair, a charcoal suit, and a polished ebony cane.

His eyes burned with fury.

Don Evaristo Salgado.

The owner of Grupo Salgado.

The billionaire whose name appeared on the hotel itself.

The chairman every politician hoped to impress.

The entire ballroom instantly recognized him.

Managers rushed forward.

Security bowed.

Executives lowered their heads.

Iván frowned in confusion.

Why would the owner personally come here?

Don Evaristo ignored everyone.

He walked straight toward the pregnant woman lying on the floor.

His expensive shoes stopped beside her.

His hands trembled.

"My little girl..."

His voice broke.

"You promised me you were happy."

Elisa looked up through tear-filled eyes.

"I'm sorry, Papa..."

The entire ballroom gasped.

Papa?

Valeria's face drained of color.

Iván laughed nervously.

"No..."

"That's impossible."

Don Evaristo slowly helped Elisa to her feet, carefully brushing the wine from her ruined dress.

Then he turned.

His expression became ice.

"You kicked my pregnant daughter."

His voice was calm.

Which somehow made it terrifying.

"You assaulted the heir carrying my grandchild..."

"...inside my own hotel."

Silence.

Utter silence.

Iván's legs weakened.

His mind replayed every insult.

Every rejection.

Every cruel word he had spoken to Elisa.

The realization hit him all at once.

The woman he had spent years humiliating...

Was the billionaire heiress everyone in Mexico admired.

And he had just attacked her in front of hundreds of witnesses.

Don Evaristo nodded once.

The hotel's legal director immediately stepped forward.

"So did the police."

So did hotel security.

Every camera inside the ballroom had already preserved the truth.
