Chapter 4 — The Wedding Day

Chapter 4 — The Wedding Day

Three weeks later, sunlight poured through the cathedral windows.

Guests filled every seat.

White roses lined the aisle.

The bride stood at the entrance wearing the same gown she had chosen that day.

The entire city expected drama.

Expected revenge.

Expected humiliation.

Instead—

The bride walked toward the front row.

There sat her aunt.

Quiet.

Ashamed.

Ready to leave if asked.

The bride smiled softly.

Then held out her hand.

“Come with me.”

The woman looked up in shock.

“What?”

“My mother always believed family deserved a second chance.”

Tears streamed down the older woman's face.

The guests watched as the two women walked down the aisle together.

For the first time in decades, the broken family was whole again.

Later that evening, after the ceremony ended, the bride stood beneath thousands of lights and raised a glass.

“My father bought a showroom.”

The crowd laughed.

She smiled.

“But today, I received something far more valuable.”

She looked toward her aunt.

“A family returned.”

The guests applauded.

The older woman cried openly.

And somewhere in their hearts, both women knew the truth:

Money could buy buildings.

Money could buy businesses.

Money could buy luxury.

But forgiveness was the one treasure that could never be purchased.

The End.
