CHAPTER 4 — JUSTICE ARRIVES

Six months later...

The courtroom overflowed with reporters from around the world.

Marcus Kane entered wearing a prison uniform instead of an expensive suit.

No bodyguards.

No lawyers whispering promises.

No power.

Emily walked into court carrying her healthy baby boy.

The room fell silent.

Marcus looked at his son for the first time.

The child never looked back.

Emily calmly took the witness stand.

She spoke for three straight days.

Every document matched.

Every recording was authenticated.

Every financial trail led directly to Marcus.

When the verdict was announced...

"Guilty on all counts."

Marcus closed his eyes.

He was sentenced to life in federal prison without the possibility of parole for leading a massive criminal enterprise, financial fraud, bribery, money laundering, witness intimidation, and attempted murder.

Outside the courthouse, hundreds of cameras surrounded Emily.

A reporter asked,

"After everything he did... what do you want your son to remember?"

Emily looked down at the sleeping baby in her arms.

Then she smiled.

"I don't want him to remember the man who tried to destroy us."

"I want him to remember that the truth is always stronger than fear."

As mother and son walked into the sunlight together, the cameras kept flashing.

But for the first time in months...

Emily didn't look back.

Because some victories aren't measured by revenge.

They're measured by the future you save.
